Who can NOT get cosmetic tattooing done?

Permanent makeup is NOT RECOMMENDED for any clients who have or are:

• Pregnant or nursing

• History of Keloids or Hypertrophic scarring

• Diabetic (require doctor’s clearance)

• Chemotherapy (consult your doctor)

• Viral infections and/or diseases

• Epilepsy

• Pacemaker or major heart problems

• Organ transplant

• Skin irritations or Psoriasis near the treated area (rashes, sunburn, acne, etc.)

• Sick (cold, flu, etc.)

• Accutane in the past year

• Had Botox in the last month

• Heart conditions, Uncontrolled High Blood Pressure

• Any treatment, medication, or illness that compromises the immune system

How long does permanent makeup last?

The treatment is permanent and will not wash off. However, it will fade over time and will need retouching to maintain
its appearance. Proper care will help maintain results. Expect for a touch up anywhere from 1- 5 years. How long your
pigment lasts will vary from each individual, however with the proper care you can extend the life of your cosmetic tattoo.

Can I change my look later if I want?

Although it is permanent, the option is available to change or modify your cosmetic tattoo. Lighter pigments fade faster
than others, while the darkest pigments may last indefinitely.

What colors are available?

There is a wide range of colors available. Your technician will work with you to select a color, taking into consideration
your skin tone, hair color and your desired result. Each tone can be altered slightly to take on a warm or cool shade
depending on the needs of the client. The color chosen/created via colour theory will be based very closely on your natural brow/lip color.

Will there be any discomfort or swelling?

Comfort levels vary from person to person. To minimize any discomfort or swelling, a topical numbing anesthetic will be applied before and during the procedure. You may experience swelling/redness immediately after and during the next day.

How long will I take to heal?

Each person will vary in their healing time. Some people will appear healed after 5 days although this is only a
superficial heal. The deeper layers of the skin will require as long as 6 weeks to fully heal with longer periods for different
individuals. Skin may peel and flake in the area where you were tattooed, while some areas may stay slightly raised for
weeks after. Patience and care are the best way to heal your cosmetic tattoo.

Can I go back to work right away?

Because results are immediate and the process of pigment implantation is minimally invasive, most clients can return to
work right away. You may experience minor swelling or redness for several days after. The full healing process is up to
several weeks however you will appear healed as soon as 5 days. Discuss your job and lifestyle with your tattooer
to ensure you are informed on specific aftercare for your lifestyle.

Is the procedure safe?

Yes. All procedures are performed under strict sanitation and sterilization rules and are administered by a qualified artist. Your procedure will be done with prepackaged, sterilized, disposable parts and needles. All pigments are natural, hypoallergenic and approved by the FDA for cosmetic use. Any service has some risks that are possible and will be discussed in full with you to ensure you understand them.

What is lip blushing?

It is a lip tattoo that enhances and defines your lips. It can help enhance and even out natural color, or add color if you are lacking any pigment. Your lips will look darker and more like lipstick on the first day, and soften as they heal to become a subtle, natural looking lip tint. Apply a little gloss or balm and your lips are perfectly kissable!

Does lip blushing hurt?

Pain levels vary from person to person. Strong medical grade topical anesthetic cream is used before and during your procedure to keep you as pain free as possible.

How long is a lip blush procedure?

The procedure takes about 2 hours. The consolation and prep work take a good portion of that time. I want to make after we have discussed your concerns and I've drawn out a shape that we are both on the same page before I start the procedure. Once we are both happy I will apply numbing cream for 20-30 mins then we will start the process. During that time the non toxic ink can get in your mouth which doesn't taste the best, but is ingestible and non toxic.

Will I still need to wear lipstick?

This is up to the look each individual is trying to achieve. The colors I tattoo with are natural and intended to look very natural. We can certainly enhance your natural color or add color if your lacking, or add a specific tint that your looking for, but it remains soft and natural. That way when you do decide to change it up and want to wear lipstick it will still look great over top, and can cover you tattoo with whatever color we decide to use.

Can lip blushing be done on everyone?

lip blushing is not for everyone. please read the contraindications carefully. if any of the following apply to you, this procedure is not recommended...

If you have previous cosmetic tattooing, send an email (before booking!!) with a picture or book a 15 minute consultation before booking your appointment.

  • You are a smoker (pigment may not retain properly, colors may distort). ...If you have a history of MRSA

  • You have psoriasis in the treatment area.

  • You have an auto-immune disease.

  • You have thyroid/graves disease (medication may cause pigment to not retain properly). ...You have anemia (pigment may not retain properly).

  • You have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring.

Generally, results are successful, however, due to skin type, healing or bleeding during procedure, some results can differ**

if you show up to your scheduled session and decide not to proceed because one or more of the above is present, your booking fee is still non-refundable and you will be charged a late cancel fee $100.

GENERAL PRECAUTIONS FOR LIP BLUSH

If you are prone to cold sores, lip tattooing CAN cause outbreaks, which can result in loss of pigment. We ask that our clients take their prescribed anti-viral medication starting 48 hours prior to their appointment and after the procedure to prevent outbreak. You can still have lip blushing done!!! We just want to ensure you get the best results possible. Consult with your doctor for any additional questions. If you have an outbreak, or any other type of scratch/acne we ask that you reschedule your appointment as soon as possible. If you show up with any type of outbreak your appointment is considered cancel and you forfeit your deposit.

What is a freckle tattoo?

Natural looking freckles tattooed with a rotary tattoo machine and PMU (permanent makeup) pigments and needles. The colour, quantity and placement are customized for each client.

How long does a freckle tattoo last for?

The freckles will fade gradually over 1-3 years, but longevity will vary for every individual. They look great over time as they fade and they also layer beautifully if you get more freckles tattooed in the future.

Does a freckle tattoo hurt?

If you've had a tattoo before, the sensation is similar without numbing. We are doing small spots, so it feels like hot 'spicy' little zaps. The machine is quiet but there is vibration. Some areas of the face are very sensitive and delicate such as the undereyes and lips. With topical numbing, the pain/sharpness is reduced or eliminated and it's mostly the pressure and vibration you'll be able to feel. Right afterward, the area might feel swollen, tender or mildly sunburnt for a few hours.

How long does the healing process take for a freckle tattoo?

Initial healing takes about 5-10 days for most people. The freckles can look dark and dramatic for up to 10 days before they flake off, and will need to be carefully cared for and kept clean and dry until the initial healing process is over. After 2 weeks, the freckles will appear healed but will still take a couple more weeks to fully settle in. Please see the Aftercare section for more detailed information.

How is the freckle placement decided on?

After cleaning the skin (and after pre-numbing if applicable) we will draw the freckles on using tattoo ink, which allows us to play around with placement/size/colour while being able to imagine what they'll look like. You're welcome to bring reference or inspiration material if you want, and we can design them together!

What is the freckle tattooing process like?

After you get signed in, we'll start discussing your desired look. Your skin will be cleaned and if you chose pre-numbing, we'll first cover the entire area to be tattooed with a layer of Zensa numbing cream and cover it with plastic film for 20-30 minutes. We'll then draw the freckles on first using tattoo ink, and then tattoo right on top of it once we're happy with the design. After a quick first pass, a fast-acting numbing gel is applied to the tattooed areas to make the second pass more comfortable.

Can you darken a mole that I have?

Unfortunately I can't tattoo over top of a natural mole. It's important to be able to detect any colour or shape changes in a mole over time, and most tattooers won't tattoo over them for this reason. If the spot is at all raised, shiny or has a different texture than the surrounding area it's best to leave it alone. In addition, moles will not always take pigment consistently and the trauma of tattooing it can cause unpredictable bleeding or growth. If you're not sure if your spot/freckle can be tattooed over, you can book a free consultation!

What will my freckles look like right after and as they heal?

Immediately after tattooing they are going to look much more dramatic and intense than the expected final result. Everyone's skin is different, but it's normal for the immediate area to be a little red or swollen and for the freckles themselves to be dark, red and defined right afterwards. Once any initial irritation subsides, the freckles will just be very dark and slightly three-dimensional for up to around a week until the dark spots gently flake off. It will take another couple of weeks for the colour to fully settle in as your skin continues to heal.

Can I wear makeup over my new freckles?

While they are healing, no. You won't be able to put any makeup or powder over them for about 1-2 weeks. Once they're superficially healed, you absolutely can. While the freckles are healing, the tattooed area needs to be kept clean and free of all makeup, beauty products, sunscreen, serums etc.
